Dog

Group:
Toy
Pronunciation:
(chi apso)
Breed Description:

These dogs are barkers. They may act tough around larger dogs and get themselves into trouble. They may not always be a good match with small children. They require a lot of socialization with children and other pets from a young age. Otherwise, very loving with their owners.

Height:
These dogs are 10 to 11 inches tall at the shoulder.
Weight:
The Chi Apso breed of dog usually weighs between 10 and 15 pounds.
Exercise:
These dogs need moderate daily exercise to maintain good health and to avoid behavior problems.
Life Expectancy:
Both of the parent breeds can live to be about 15 years. If these dogs are free of health problems they could live about the same lifespan.
Grooming:
For Chi Apsos that have long hair like the Lhasa Apso, follow the same kind of grooming recommendations for that breed: frequent regular brushing to discourage tangles. Some owners may prefer to have their dogs clipped periodically. For Chi Apsos with short hair there will be minimal grooming requirements. Regular grooming is required to maintain good health. Regular ear cleaning is necessary to prevent ear infections.
Origin:
United States. More information is not known.
