Breed Description: 

The Cesky Fousek breed of dog is energetic, smart and willing to please. They are a typical sporting dog in many ways. They are cheerful and friendly and they like children. They are loyal and protective. These dogs are also very sociable and oriented toward people and they are never happy if kenneled or isolated from their family. They make very good family dogs.  They may become destructive or nervous if left alone for too long. Good socialization is important.

Height: 
These dogs usually stand 22 to 26 inches tall at the shoulder.
Weight: 
The Cesky Fousek breed of dog typically weighs 48 to 75 pounds.
Health Problems: 
Exercise is essential or there will be problems.
Exercise: 
This is a vigorous sporting breed and they need a great deal of exercise to maintain good health and to avoid behavior problems. These dogs are not for people who live in apartments. They need frequent exercise daily in order to be happy and healthy. They make an ideal dog for someone who is active and who enjoys jogging, hiking or cycling with a dog as a companion. Exercise is essential or there will be problems.
Life Expectancy: 
The usual lifespan for these dogs is 12 to 15 years
Grooming: 
Grooming for the Cesky Fousek breed of dog is minimal. Regular brushing is necessary and the breed is said to be an average shedder. Regular ear cleaning is needed to prevent ear infections.
Origin: 
The Cesky Fousek breed of dog was a popular pointing dog in the former Czechoslovakia prior to World War I. However, the breed nearly became extinct in the 1920s. Breeders were able to bring the breed back by planned breedings with the German Wirehaired Pointer.
