Cat Fashion; Making Your Cat Comfortable

Cat Fashion; Making Your Cat Comfortable

I guess every cat owner likes to keep their pets in tiptop condition. This means having their cat look good on every occasion and cat fashion can do a lot to help.

With the plethora of high-fashion items available for cats in the marketplace today, cat owners have an ending range of choices for their most precious of pets. From hats and scarves to amusing sunglasses, your cat can be as fashionable as any fashionista who struts their own catwalk.

Imagine dressing your cat in a monogrammed ribbon collar or a hat to suit his or her personality so he or she can strut their stuff with style and confidence. Sometimes, it all sounds a little ridiculous to be so concerned about the fashion statements our little cat companions can make. Are we really trying to make our cats look good, or are we simply trying to express our own personality as cat owners.

Dressing up your cat is no different to showing your cat in a show. You are simply expressing your pride in your pet's appearance and engaging in a little fashion play is a harmless pastime that can be enjoyed by everyone. And who's to say that your little cat doesn't enjoy it just as much?

There been many occasions when I have playfully dressed my cat in a collar and hat to match only to find my little cat distressingly attempting to remove the objectionable paraphernalia from his head. But there have been many other times when he has found himself comfortably attired in a collar and matching tie. Who knows for sure what is going on inside your pet's mind, all I can say is that it seems as if cats can be very human when it comes to fashion. One day it looks at the fabulous and the next day the same outfit is objectionable and passé.

Many cat owners saved their fashionable displays for show day. This is an occasion where you want your cat to look absolutely gorgeous and perfect and sometimes dressing in the appropriate manner can be enough to sway at judge’s opinion one way or the other. It's all a matter of taste and careful decision-making so as to not go over the top to produce a gaudy display unworthy of any regal feline.

On show day other things are more important and cat fashion can become a distracting element so the choice of what your cat wears has got to be made with this in mind.

I guess the most important point to make when it comes to cat fashion is that is responsible cat owners, we must make sure that our precious pets are as comfortable as possible and are not just being used as a whimsical expression of our own personalities.

All cats have their own personality and every caring owner would have carefully assessed this over many years and will know exactly how their cat reacts when being dressed up. Choose your outfit wisely and don't become a slave to cat fashion as we humans so often do.
