Horse

Breed Description:

The Castilian breed of horse is a Spanish horse known for its unique walk, the Paso Castellano (or Castilian Walk). The gait is a broken pace, which begins with both legs on one side moving forward simultaneously and harmoniously. However, it differs from a pure pace in that the rear leg hits the ground before the front leg, resulting in a four beat cadence that varies with the horse's speed. The Castilian breed of horse is not a color-driven breed, and all colors common to horses are acceptable, with gray coats and dark skin considered the most desirable. The Castilian's mane and tail are typically long, full, and shiny.

Temperament:
The Castilian breed of horse is generally obedient.
Height:
The Castilian breed of horse stands about 14 to 14.3 hands high. Some fine mares are 13.2 hands high.
Health Problems:
The Castilian breed of horse is considered durable, with no known breed-specific health problems.
Exercise:

Grooming:

Origin:
The Castilian breed of horse originated from the Kingdom of Castile (now Spain).
