Origin:
The Brazilian Sport breed of horse is a very new breed, having been created in 1970. Brazilians at the time sought to combine the best characteristics of exceptionally sporty horses such as the Criollo and the Trakehner. Over the past 40 years, however, the breed has been further developed using bloodlines from many different breeds, thus diluting the prominence of any one particular breed. While the Brazilian Sport breed is still young, it is clear that the breed will continue to grow in numbers. Brazilian Sport horses have been used in many worldwide events and sports, including the Olympics, and overall this breed has been performing well.
