Dog

Pronunciation:
baw-pin
Breed Description:

The Bospin breed of dog is a "designer" or mixed breed that was created by crossing the Miniature Pinscher with the Boston Terrier. Because of this, a breed type has not been established and the looks and temperament of the dog can greatly change from one puppy to the next. Generally, the Bospin will have qualities of both parents.  They are a small sized breed of dog that should be slender in appearance and have the delicate build of the Miniature Pinscher. They should have dainty feet but their chest and body should be athletic and muscular. The head should be slightly rounded like the Boston Terrier with the large eyes and erect ears, but the muzzle is usually slightly longer than the Boston Terriers.  They should have a level top line and they usually have the square build of the Boston Terrier.

The coat of the Bospin is usually a short coat that is very dense and covers the dog completely. The hair should lay flat on the dog, create a smooth line and have a natural shine to it. The texture of the coat should be slightly hard. The Bospin can be found in any colors that are common in the parent breeds but the most common color is the black and white.

Temperament:
The Bospin breed of dog is a designer breed and because of this, their temperament can vary greatly. They are known for being an affectionate breed that is full of spunk and is usually very alert. While they are extremely intelligent, the Bospin can be stubborn at times and this can make training difficult. They are usually able to get into all sorts of mischief and they often combine this mischievous nature with a clown like personality. They are very loyal to their owners but they can also be very independent. The Bospin is usually good with older children but they are not usually recommended for homes with smaller children. The breed does well with other dogs but if they take after their Miniature Pinscher parent, then they may have a strong prey drive and may not be suitable for homes with small, non-canine pets.
