Dog
The Borador breed of dog is a "designer" or mixed breed that was created by crossing the Labrador Retriever with the Border Collie. Because of this, a breed type has not been established and the looks and temperament of the dog can greatly change from one puppy to the next. Generally, the Borador will have qualities of all the parents. They are usually a medium to large sized breed of dog that has a robust build that is still athletic and muscular without being too lean or too heavy. The top line is level and the build is slightly longer than they are tall. Usually, the head is the broad head of the Labrador Retriever with the hanging ears of the breed, but they often have a slightly longer and lighter muzzle. The tail is usually long and full.
The coat of the Borador can range from the dense coat of the Border Collie to the short coat of the Labrador Retriever but usually it is a dense double coat with a short, weatherproof undercoat and a short top coat. The color of the Borador can be any color that is common in the parent breeds but the most common color is black with white markings.

The standards for all the breeds accepted to the AKC are used here for breed information, and those not part of the AKC are resourced from FCI standard information, where it is written and coded into the club rules for those breeds.
