Pronunciation:

Breed Description:

The Bologco breed of dog is a "designer" or mixed breed that was created by crossing the Bolognese and the Cocker Spaniel. Because of this, a breed type has not been established and the looks and temperament of the dog can greatly change from one puppy to the next. Generally, the Bologco will have qualities of all the parents. The breed is generally a small sized breed of dog that should be robust and compact in appearance. They should be slightly longer than they are tall with a level top line and a long tail that curls over the back.  The Bologco usually has a broad, slightly rounded head that is very similar to the Bolognese parent, however, their long ears usually hang down the side of the head and resemble their Cocker Spaniel parent more.

The coat of the Bologco tends to be a double coat with a soft, short undercoat and a long top coat. Many times, the topcoat has a scruffy appearance or a fluffy appearance.  They can be any color that the parent breeds have but the most common color is white and apricot.

Temperament:
The Bologco breed of dog is a designer breed and because of this, their temperament can vary greatly. They are considered to be a friendly little dog that is the ideal companion pet. They love being with their owners and will often be very entertaining in their antics. The breed does well with children, however, they may be better suited to homes with older children. The Bologco can suffer from separation anxiety if they are left alone too long but if they are given ample opportunity to be with their owner, then the Bologco is a friendly and affectionate companion.
