Berner Niederlaufhund Champions
The Berner Niederlaufhund breed of dog is a medium sized breed of dog that should be robust and sturdy. They should be well-built with good proportion. The build should be slightly longer than they are tall and they should have a level top line. The head should be broad, with a long and slender look from the front. It should give the dog a noble appearance. The ears should be long and should hang down the side of the head. The tail should be long and slightly curved.
The Berner Niederlaufhund has two coat types:
Smooth: The coat of the dog should be short in length and dense. There should be a soft undercoat and the top coat should be hard to the touch.
Wire: This is a short coat that is hard to the touch. There should be evidence of a beard on the face and there should only be one coat.
The only color that is accepted for the Berner Niederlaufhund is white, black and tan.
