Breed Description:

The Bea-Tzu breed of dog is a "designer" or mixed breed that was created by crossing the Shih Tzu and the Beagle. Generally, the Bea-Tzu will have qualities of all the parents. They are a small to medium sized breed of dog that should be compact while still maintaining a slender and athletic build. The muzzle is medium in length, right in between the long muzzle of the Beagle and the short muzzle of the Shih Tzu and has a slightly square shape. The long ears hang down the side of the head and the tail is usually long and carried low.

The coat of the Bea-Tzu can range from the short, hard coat of the Beagle to the long silky coat of the Shih Tzu, however, the most common is a medium length coat with both a top and undercoat.
