Breed Description: 

The Arubian Cunucu Dog, or Aruba Island Dog, breed of dog is not a well known dog and does not have a specific breed standard. They are known as beinga pariah-type dog that is believed to be primitive and the result of random breeding in Aruba.  The breed should have the characteristics of all pariah-type breeds including a moderately built body, a wedge shaped head with large, pricked ears and a curled tail that curls tightly over the back.  They can be found in a range of sizes and currently there is no specific look that breeders of the Arubian Cunucu Dog is looking for.

The coat is usually very typical of pariah type breeds with a short, dense hair that is smooth and slightly hard to the touch.  The color can be any including black, tan and white, red and white, tan, and black.

Temperament: 
The Aurbian Cunucu Dog breed of dog does not have any specific standard but in general, they are often described as happy and affectionate dogs that are intelligent and energetic. Known for being very sweet, the breed can be very versatile and will enjoy being with an active owner or one who simply likes to rest on the couch.

The height of the Arubian Cunucu Dog varies greatly from dog to dog but on average, they are usually around 18 to 23 inches.
Weight: 
The average weight of an Aurbian Cunucu Dog varies from dog to dog but on average, they are usually around 40 to 50 pounds.

Living Conditions: 
The Arubian Cunucu Dog breed of dog can live in both apartments and homes as long as their exercise needs are being met.
Exercise: 
The Arubian Cunucu Dog breed of dog is described as being a very active breed so it is important to give them between 45 to 60 minutes of exercise each day. The breed can make an excellent jogging companion.

The Arubian Cunucu Dog breed of dog is a very easy breed to groom and they require little to no maintenance to keep their coats healthy. On average, you should expect to brush your dog on a weekly basis to remove dead hairs and dirt. A wipe down with a damp cloth will keep them clean and they should only be bathed when it is absolutely necessary. Ears should be cleaned on a regular basis and nails should be clipped once or twice a week.
