Horse
The American Warmblood breed of horse was developed as America's answer to the classical European warmbloods. Like its forebears, it is ideally suited for traditional European ("English riding") disciplines of dressage, jumping, classical equestrian and combined driving. The American Warmblood breed of horse is more of a type than a specific bloodline. It may be any color, but is usually be solid. It should be well-suited for performance in the traditional horse sports. The individual horse of warmblood type is evaluated for registry potential based upon strict studbook selection or performance criteria. Horses of cold-blooded type (draft) or hot-blooded type (Thoroughbred, Arabian) are not eligible for registry but are "Nominated" instead. The American Warmblood breed of horse is influenced, however, by each of these breeds. The typical individual of the American Warmblood breed of horse is tall, large of body and of striking appearance, with profound athletic ability.
